| Walt
Disney World Kissimmee, Florida
The
Attractions:
The attractions include Walt Disney World, Epcot Center,
the Magic Kingdom, Disney MGM Studios Theme Park, Disney's Animal
Kingdom, DisneyQuest, Pleasure Island and Disney's Wide World
of Sports complex.
The most popular, if not the most charming, of Walt Disney
World's attractions, the Magic Kingdom is the
east coast version of Walt Disney's prototype, Disneyland. It
uses a "hub and spoke" layout to connect the Cinderella's
Castle at its center with the themed lands: Fantasyland, Tomorrowland,
Mickey's Toontown Fair, Adventureland, Fronteirland, Liberty Square
and Main Street, U.S.A. By focusing on Disney's world famous cartoon
characters, films and melding them with interactive technology,
the Magic Kingdom is the quintessential theme park experience.
Epcot,
which opened October 1, 1982 after years of planning and three
years of construction is a 300-acre theme park, inspired by Walt
Disney's creative genius and his visions of a showcase for innovation.
The smallest
of the parks, Disney-MGM Studios is a bustling
tribute to the Disney Hollywood films. Its streets set the stage
for some great movie-themed attractions. With the addition of
the Twilight Zone, Tower of Terror and the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster,
the park is now home to WDW's most thrill-packed rides.
From the moment
you step into Disney's Animal Kingdom, you realize
this is not your typical theme park, nor is it your typical zoo.
It is a natural place of flowering glades and tumbling waterfalls.
Guests are free to explore several lush paths that lead to natural
animal habitats of miniature deer, brilliant macaws, an anteater,
iguanas and tree kangaroos.
Opened in
1998, DisneyQuest is an indoor interactive theme
park that combines Disney's magic with cutting-edge interactive
technology. You might call it the video arcade / virtual theme
park / entertainment center of the future.
Pleasure
Island is the nighttime entertainment district at Downtown
Disney. It consists of themed nightclubs, restaurants and shops.
Once you are admitted to the island you are free to roam about
and enter any and all of the establishments.
There is something
for everyone at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex,
the ultimate destination for competitors and fans alike. The multi-million
dollar international sports complex is capable of accommodating
amateur and professional training and competition, and is one
of the world's premier sports destinations.

Time & Money Saving Tips for planning your trip to and through
Islands of Adventure:
1. Before
you start planning your vacation, find out whether your company
or credit union belongs to the Magic Kingdom Club. Membership
entitles you to discounts on four-day Park Hopper and Length of
Stay passes as well as Disney dining, hotels, and merchandise.
If your employer is not a member, call 714-781-1550 to request
an application.
2. Published weekly, ALL EARS features hard-to-find and up-to-the-minute
news to help its readers maximize their Walt Disney World experience.
Find time and money saving tips by subscribing to the ALL EARS
ezine: Visit http://www.allearsnet.com.
3. Buy the FIVE DAY HOPPER PASS. Even if you're visiting for fewer
days, it's a deal (the pass costs $217 for visitors ages 10 and
up, $172 for kids ages three to nine and is free for kids under
age three). Without the pass, you'll have to pay separately for
Pleasure Island and the water parks. A single trip to Blizzard
Beach, for example, would cost a family of four $112.
4. Wait until the end of your trip to buy souvenirs. By then,
the kids will really know what they want, and you won't waste
money on expensive impulse purchases.
5. Learn to use the FAST PASS system efficiently! You will be
amazed how much time you save by not having to standing in line.
6 . Most attractions have two lines -- a right line and a left
line. If you cannot see the end of the line, choose the left line.
It's usually shorter.
7 . Not everything at Disney has to cost you lots of money. If
you would like a good time filler that is inexpensive, try Resort
hopping. If you stay on the grounds then you have unlimited access
to all the Disney resorts and Downtown Disney. Take the time to
Resort hop and scope where your next stay might be.
8. If you have a child, plan your trip so you are at magic kingdom
when it opens. The crowd gets really heavy around 11:00am.
